SuperSeal VOC Concrete and Paver Sealer
As of 2025, I have found that the SuperSeal VOC Concrete and Paver Sealer is one of my most popular sealers for Stamped Concrete, Brick Pavers, and other Decorative Concrete Surfaces. If you have questions about the SuperSeal VOC Concrete and Paver Sealer product, please ask me in our Q&A area below. I am here to help!
This is a low-VOC solvent-based concrete sealer that is compliant with states that limit the use of Volatile Organic Compounds to 250.
The SuperSeal VOC is a 25% solid solvent-based acrylic primarily used for all exterior decorative concrete, such as Brick Pavers, Stamped Concrete, Exposed Aggregate, etc. This sealer darkens the appearance and leaves a shine similar to a semi-gloss.
It was one of a few solvent-based sealers that can still be shipped to states like California.
Note: This sealer has the same properties as the SuperSeal25 but with an exempt solvent that allows it to be used for Low VOC restricted states.
SuperSeal VOC Paver and Concrete Sealer Scores (1-10)
Wet Look: 10
SuperSeal VOC dramatically enhanced the Stamped Concrete patio. The concrete’s gray and red dye colors were restored and enhanced to a rich color.
Gloss Level: 7
SuperSeal VOC is a 25% solid styrene-acrylic sealant. After drying, the patio retained a semi-gloss shine. The Overall appearance was uniform, and no bubbles in the sealer were present.
Joint Sand Hardening: 7
We did not have any sand on the stamped concrete patio. We have used this sealer for brick pavers, where the jointing sand hardened well for two years with minimal washout.
Fading/Wearing After 2 Years: 8
At the 2-year mark, the sealer had lost about 20% of its original shine and wet look. No peeling, pitting, or wearing was noticeable.
White Haze/Yellowing: 10
– There was no visible white hazing or yellowing of the sealer after two years.
My Overall Score SuperSeal VOC at 2 Year Period: 8.4
SuperSeal VOC is an excellent solvent-based sealer. It would be a good choice if you live in a limited VOC state and need a quality sealer for brick pavers or other decorative concrete surfaces.

Just saw your reply to Super Seal 2000 below that it is an “inferior product”. So how do you apply your product over an old Sealer?
Hi, I live near Sun Valley, ID at 6000 ft where my stamped concrete sidewalk/ stair has had a coat of Super Seal 2000 over 2 times over 4 years. Each time it has gotten a white haze over it. I need to redo now this summer asap. You are claiming that Super Seal 25 gets no white haze. Is this true where the side walk is covered with snow for 4-5 months a year? What do you recommend for this repair? I have been told to apply xylene first. do you agree? Why would I reseal vs apply an… Read more »
You will need to strip it down to fix this. See here: https://www.concretesealerreview.com/how-to-strip-a-stamped-concrete-sealer/
Xylene will not fix it.
Thank You. It is a big job to repair while protecting the bordering plants. Is there a special type of plastic drop sheet that stripper will not melt when power washing off that you recommend?
Any heavy mil plastic will work.
Hello Scott, What skid additive do you recommend adding to Super Seal 25 to make my steps less slippery? Thanks again, Charlie.
Super Grip but you will need 2 coats of sealer for it to work correctly.
Scott, If I go with Supreme Shield SB-600 so i get the wet look with no gloss, do I still use Super Grip to reduce slip? In reading about Super Grip, the overview says it goes with Super seal 25., Supreme Shield is not mentioned. Also, the overview also say use 2 coats as you suggested but it is unclear. Do I apply the first coat after the strip it without Super Grip and then Apply the 2nd coat with Super Grip? Thanks, Charlie
Super Grip will not work with SB-600. The SB-600 is too thin.
So, I am putting on a 50 ft stamped concrete walkway in the northern Rockies. So what sure grip product is best to use with SB-600? Or is SB-600 the wrong choice for a walkway that sees a lot ice and snow 5 months a year? If so, is Super Sealer 25 the best choice because I can put a sure grip in it?
No grip will work with the SB-600. You need a sealer like the SS25 for a grip to work.
For less gloss and will work with the Grip, try Super Seal Matte. You will need 2 coats and add the Super Grip into the second coat.

We live in Northern California a Ultra Low VOC state and are looking for a Sealer or Sealers for the following two applications:
1) Driveway: 4,600 sq. ft. of NEW Belgard flat brick pavers; Wet Look, Matte Finish, Joint Stabilizing, Non-Yellowing
2) Pool Patio Area: 700 sq. ft. of NEW Belgard flat large format brick pavers; Wet Look, Matte Finish, Joint Stabilizing, Non-Slip, Non-Yellowing
Recommendations please. Thank you in advance for your help!
Try the Super Seal VOC paver sealer.
Thank you Scott for the quick reply. The product looks like it checked most of the boxes but I’m concerned about the gloss level at 7, sounds pretty shinny. Do you know if there is a small tester bottle for purchase? Thanks again.
Doubt it. Your surface determines the shine level. Honestly, you do not have many choices in CA so this is your best option.
I sealed the patio last Fall with the Superseal VOC and it gave a good wet look. The steps looked great too. However, the steps now look like the photo. Any thoughts?
Could be trapped moisture or some kind of efflorescence. Try a solvent to fix like Xylene or Lacquer Thinner.
The end (appx 3-4 feet) of my stamped concrete porch is in the sun all the time, and i applied the Superseal VOC Matte with a paint roller. On the sun portion of the porch there are small air bubbles on this area, but not the shaded cooler part.
Can i sand these bubbles and reseal when the weather is cooler, when that portion of the porch is cooler? Or do you have a recommendation please?
See here for tips: https://www.concretesealerreview.com/how-to-fix-concrete-sealer-bubbles/
Can I apply Superseal VOC when 90 degrees outside and been 90 all day?
That would be the high end for applying.
Just used super seal voc on patio. How to clean up roller pan and paint brush?
Use lacquer thinner or xylene.
I have a paver patio that runs along my pool. I am looking for a sealer that will be non slippery and stabilize the joints. I do not care about a wet look. Any recommendations?
Try Surebond SB-1300.
Live in Colorado and we had a stamped concrete patio installed about 6 years ago. I sealed it with SuperSeal 2000 originally and reapplied it a few years later also using SuperSeal 2000. The plan this spring was to add another coat. However, we can only find SuperSeal VOC at our local concrete supply store. Any problems using SuperSeal VOC? Are the applications instructions and results the same? Thanks
SuperSeal 2000 is a completely different brand and not made by the same company. It is actually an inferior sealer to the Super Seal 25, Super Seal 30, Super Seal VOC, etc. We do not know if they are compatible.
I live in central fl, driveway in full sun almost all day. Pavers were seal 4 years ago i think with a water base sealer by a contractor that installed them. water soak’s into pavers so i don,t think anything is left on them. Looking for a wet look with a little shine , what do you suggest? i have seen some driveway with white spots and i don’t want that to happen here. Should i use a water or Solvent base what is better?? Thanks Bob
Try Surebond SB-6000 or the Supreme Shield SB-600. Both give a wet look with no shine. The fist is water and the second is solvent-based. You will get a deeper wet look with solvent-based.
I live in San Diego, close to the ocean. Our patio is 2 years old. It stamped, with a light gray color. It gets lots of direct sun exposure. The main problem is a fine dust (concrete powder?) that gets tracked into the house. I’m sure that the dust is from the concrete, rather than any roadway or construction sites.
Will a sealant solve the dust problem, and if so, what sealant do you recommend.
Yes, it should help.
The Florida company that installed my cement brick pavers wants to seal them with a “proprietary water based sealant” with a one year warranty. Of course the driveway of 1914 s.f. will be pressure washed first. The total cost is $980. 1. What type and kind of sealant do you recommend for this project? 2. What can I expect to pay for each gallon and how many gallons will I need? 3. I would like a non-slippery finish and need to know whether a matte or shiny finish is best in this instance for a good appearance and safety in… Read more »
1. Depends on the look you want: https://www.concretesealerreview.com/best-brick-paver-sealer/
2. Depends on the product you end up choosing. All cost different.
3. See #1
4. 1-2 years.
5. Seems very fair.
I just had a sealer job done on3/29/19. And, just saw your March 2019 posting on your solvents. The cans the sealer came in were only labeled CM Super Sealer VOC. When Workman was asked what kind of solvent was being used for my job, he read from a small label on can and stated it was an oil based solvent. Questions 0) is an oil based paver solvent typical and a safe solvent for brick pavers and People. 1) is this a VOC solvent approved for use in FL. 2) will it be slippery, since this also is on… Read more »
Yes
Yes
No, unless he over applied it.

Will it be slippery without an additive? I want to use it around a pool deck. Thank you!
Hard to say, typically no.
Hi,
I live in Long Island, New York. I have the older Cambridge Armortec flat brick pavers (14 yrs).
1) Will SuperSeal25 be slippery after rain settles on it?
I also have the newer pavers on another driveway which are only 6 months old. They are not flat or smooth as the older pavers.
2) Is SuperSeal25 recommended for these pavers?
3) Is it too soon to apply a sealer?
Thank you
1. Typically no.
2. Yes
3. You can seal now.
