2024 Super Seal 30 Review
As of 2024, we have found that the Super Seal 30 Gloss is one of the most popular sealers for Stamped Concrete, Brick Pavers, and other Decorative Concrete Surfaces. If you have questions about the Super Seal 30 product, please ask me in our Q&A area below. I am here to help!
SuperSeal30 is a Higher-Gloss Concrete Sealer that can be used on many different types of concrete surfaces. It is popular for Brick Paver Patios, Exposed Aggregate, and Stamped Concrete. This sealer darkens the appearance and leaves a shine.
The SuperSeal30 is a solvent-based, breathable acrylic sealer.
SuperSeal30 Paver and Concrete Sealer Scores (1-10)
Wet Look: 10
SuperSeal30 contains 30% solid acrylic. It darkened our 4-year-old paver patio as if wet and stayed that way after drying. It enhanced the natural red and brown tones in our paver bricks.
Gloss Level: 8
The high solid content of the SuperSeal gave our paver patio a high-gloss shine. The overall appearance on our test patio was quite rich-looking but not so shiny that it looked “fake.” The sealer was slightly slippery for the first couple of weeks when it rained, but after complete curing, that was not an issue.
Joint Sand Hardening: 8
– SuperSeal30 is very thick in consistency. While it did harden the sand between the pavers, it did not harden, as did some water-based versions. Due to the thickness of the sealer, it did not penetrate as deeply into the sand. The top 1/2 inch of the sand had hardened.
Fading/Wearing After 2 Years: 7
SuperSeal30 gets our best score regarding fading from the sun’s UV. It faded evenly with no wear. About 70% of the gloss and wet look remained at the 2-year mark.
White Haze/Yellowing: 10
– There was no visible white hazing or yellowing of the sealer after 2 years.
My Overall Score SuperSeal30 at 2 Year Period: 8.6
– SuperSeal30 is an excellent sealer for brick pavers and other decorative surfaces. It does what it is supposed to do by adding a rich look to the surface without any side effects. Future maintenance would be easy with light cleaning and re-coat. We like that it is a breathable styrene acrylic. This dramatically reduces any chance of hazing due to trapped moisture.

We used Super seal 30 on our 12 x 30 patio. Our concrete is 16 years the finish is in good shape and other than a very few minor hairline cracks 3 to be exact. SUPER SEAL30 looks 90% good.
Only question is about 1′ wide 30′ long really smooth section where it’s spider web cracked. I’m sure it’s not the concrete.
What did do wrong ? Can I fix that with another coat of SS 30?
Post pictures.
This article offers a detailed review of SuperSeal30, providing valuable insights for concrete contractors seeking high-quality sealers for paver and concrete projects.
Anyone use Superseal 30 gloss on flagstone patio?
Wet look/gloss sealers do not work well for natural stone. Dries blotchy. They are designed for decorative concrete, brick pavers, stamped concrete, etc.

What sealer do you recommend for colder/snowy locations in the winter. I am in Canada. My concrete has been sealed previously.
This would vary based on the appearance you want and more importantly, the sealer brand and type used prior?
Help. Contractor used super seal 30 on year old concrete. He rolled it. Temps 100. What or how to fix. He’s adding another coat tomorrow. He put original coat on the day before.
What is the issue? The uneveness is based on the color of your concrete, not the sealer. Did you stain the concrete?
Color was put on concrete. It went in smooth and full coverage and then uneven and white streaks.
This is not a sealer issue. The sealer just enhances the colors of your concrete. The streakiness was there prior. This happens a lot with concrete stains and acid stains. The top coats only enhance what is there.
See pics from Google search showing similar.
I seal my stamped concrete every year, but in the last 3-4 years after it is installed and dry it begins to develop air bubbles in a day or two after it is installed. I used to roll it on with a sponge sectional roller, and now I use a sprayer to spray sealer on ,then roll it before it drys. I still get air bubbles. What is causing this as I never had an issue years ago with this happening and I’m still using the same product.

The best way to prepare garage concrete with oil stains for resin coating
Use a Cleaner Degreaser: https://www.opwdecks.com/cleaner-degreaser.htm
Is this sealer ideal for curbing?
You can use it on these pavers.
can you recoat super seal 30 with Concrete acrylic sealer Stone tone by Kemico
We are not familiar with Kemico sealers so not sure if compatible or not.
Ill get with kemico then. It seems putting tape over the sealer is not such a good idea before waxing floor as sealer and stain was removed when we pulled up the painters tape. Now I am in rework and hoping to use something not so toxic. My daughter in law has major allergies.
Would it be possible to use this on a grinded concrete in garage with flakes in first coat once dried top coat of polyurethane?
You cannot top coat the SS30 and never use a poly on a garage floor. It would peel badly.
Where can I buy a sample of Super Seal 30 tinted brown?
Sorry but no idea.
We will be applying supersealer30 with temperature between 50 and 80.
Does it matter if the temperatures drops to 30 degrees a day later?
It should not drop below freezing within 12-24 hours.
What would you recommend to seal a new concrete garage floor that has an water based acrylic stain(dye) applied?
I am looking for a gloss finish. We have 2,000 SQ ft to cover. Thanks
Look at a clear epoxy top coat for best results: https://www.restore-a-garage.com/restore-a-garage-epoxy/restore-a-garage-clear-top-coat/flypage.tpl.html
I am told that because SS30 is breathable it can be applied to freshly laid concrete pavers without any issues. Is this correct? Everywhere I look it says you need to wait 30-60 days before sealing new pavers to allow the chemicals and dies in them to come out?
Yes, that is correct with the SS30.
Can super seal 30 be used on a new indoor concrete hearth safely?
We would not suggest it as the odor will be strong as it is solvent based. Try Masonry Saver Decorative concrete sealer.
If this can’t be used on a fieldstone and concrete wall what can be used?
It can be used on concrete but not on natural stone. Wet look and glossy sealers tend to dry blotchy on natural stone.
Our decorative concrete patio(13yrs old) surrounds a pool. We live in the NW where there can be feet of snow/freezing temps throughout winter months. Pics attached…. 1. Do we need to use a chemical stripper or can this be stripped with just a power washer before resealing? If we need a chemical–which product do you recommend? 1. You will need a chemical stripper while pressure washing. https://www.concretesealerreview.com/how-to-strip-a-stamped-concrete-sealer/
2. Supreme Shield SB-600.
Can SuperSeal be used on a concrete garage floor? The floor is in a new garage.
It is not designed for plain poured white concrete. It is for decorative surfaces like pavers, stamped, etc.
hi
In the past i have used euco clear350. can i switch to this and be ok .
You should be okay.
Just had some stone veneer pillars built and would like a wet look, semi gloss finish. I live in Northern Alberta Canada. Wondering what would be the best product to use….thanks
Sorry, but the products we use are for concrete and bricks. They do not work the same for stone.
No, SS30 is for decorative concrete surfaces like stamped, acid stained, pavers, etc. Unfortunately, your surface is deteriorating and there is no way to stop or prevent this
Can I put this on my exposed aggregate patio that was stained with Browntome Euclid Chemical 2 years ago?
Post a picture of the patio here in the comments.

Should be posted now!
Was it sealed with Diamond Clear after the stain? Yes, you can use the SS30 over it but it looks like the old sealer is starting to turn white in areas and that means it should be stripped off first: https://www.concretesealerreview.com/how-to-strip-a-stamped-concrete-sealer/
Use the SS30 in the brown tint when ready.
No, I haven’t put anything on it since the original stain
Okay, just seal then with the SS30 in brown tint.
Can I use a sealer if my stamped concrete has pitting.?
Yes, but it will not “fix” the pitting. It will still be there and show.
How do we fix the pitting?
You cannot fix pitting. It is a failure of the concrete and cannot be prevented. If you are trying to get rid of the white spots you can try to use a concrete stain to make it blend by spot applying. We have found this does not work very well though.
We sealed the concrete floor before construction and now there’s scratches from the contractor dragging lumber across it. How do we fix the scratches?
Reseal all.

You cannot use gloss/wet look sealers for the plain concrete. It will dry very blotchy. For the exposed aggregate, try Super Seal VOC for CA. For the driveway, try SuperSeal-M.
Can I stain my brick paver after sealing with Super 30? I have a milky film on surface from joint filler residue prior to sealing.
No. You have to strip off the sealer and then chemically clean off the poly haze dust to fix it.
No wet look, no shine, and sealer between joint extremely important. I live in Miami Florida and I have pavers. Thank you
Try Surebond SB-1300.
Do I have to strip off the old layer of Super Seal 30 in order to apply a new layer in the future?
Thank you.
No.
Would this be the sealer to use on Chicago brick pavers. We used one kind a couple of years ago and it left a white substance on the pavers
No, Chicago bricks are clay and a wet look and gloss sealer will not work on clay bricks.
We just repaired cracks in our aggregate concrete driveway. This has left the cracks and surrounding area with a lighter cement color strips. Our driveway is old and has never been sealed. Cement has darkened in color over the years. I was wondering if Super Seal 30 sealant, either clear or brown color, can help blend the repaired cracks with rest of the driveway. If so, what would be the best procedure for applying the sealant? Thanks for your assistance.
Sealing it will not make it blend better as it will just all be enhanced but still be lighter in the new area.
Please recommend an alternate treatment. Thanks.
Sorry, but there is not a way to make it all blend.
My driveway was sealed with, ARMOR SX5000 PENETRATING CONCRETE AND MASONRY SEALER WATER REPELLENT SOLVENT BASED SILANE SILOXANE WITH SALT GUARD when done in 2017,
Can I use Super Seal 30 over it?
What type of surface is the driveway?
5000psi concrete
That is not what I meant. Wet look/gloss sealers will only work for decorative concrete surfaces like pavers, stamped, acid stained, etc. If plain white concrete, you cannot use them as it will be very blotchy.
Thank you for you help! Mine is just regular concrete that was trialed and lightly brushed.
You would need another solvent-based siloxane type sealer. Try Masonry Saver Solvent-based sealer.

Looking for a product to put on epoxy stone aggregate we have on a front porch that will repel water seepage. What product would you recommend.
Do you have pictures of the surface?
I can text some images to you. What is your contact number.
Post images in the comment area, we do not communicate through texting.
I have a driveway & pool deck that were sealed with Seal-N-Lock wet look 3 1/2 years ago. Has become very dull. Can I use Super Seal 30 gloss over it? If so, can you recommend someone north of Tampa to do the job?
We do not know of any installers in your area. You can use the SS30 over the old sealer as long as the old sealer has not turned white in color.
Hello, We had our slab poured for our house, and concrete guy put a slick surface on it and then sealed it with Super Seal 30 within a day or 2. A few areas seemed to have rings where either sealant pooled or water pooled (rain), and flaking around those ares. After lots of crews have been working for the past 4 months, the floor is fairly scratched, and will need to be sealed. We want to leave it natural, no stain, but DO want to put another coat of something on. I was thinking about a Densifier / Sealant… Read more »
You already sealed it with SS30? You will have to strip it off fully if you did as you cannot add a penetrating sealer over it.
Yes. Sadly, it’s already down.
Are there any other options aside from fully stripping it to get a nice looking finish (no scratches) over the top of the SS30?
If stripping is required, and pressure washing is out because it’s in my house, what do you recommend?
Thank you for your help!
No, you have to strip it off and you need pressure washing to use a stripper. Another option would be to diamond grind it off. Dusty but would be your best option since it is indoors.
The home we purchased was sealed using polymeric sand and a water based (Seal N’ Lock Super Wet) sealant. After a few years, it has gotten very dull. Are there any downsides to switching to solvent-based vs Water-based? I want vibrant colors from my pavers. Live in Tampa, FL.
None. Just make sure the surface is porous and the old sealer has not turned white or hazy.
Excellent article re: cleaning, joint sand, & sealing. Can you recommend a service to hire for our brick backyard pati and front brick walk up. We live in Mt. Prospect, IL the 60056 area.
Sorry, but we do not know of any contractors in your area.
I have applied a water base sealer to my pavers. It stayed milky white, cloudy. I want a gloss look. Can I apply this product over my sealant to get a wet look to my pavers?
Thanx
No. You need to strip off the first sealer then you can use the Super Seal.
How long to wait to apply after pressure washing?
1-2 days.
Where can I buy this in Iowa or Missouri? I have always used Super Diamond Clear, but this looks superior. And my switch to the water-based SDC was an experiment not be repeated. Thanks!
Check with the manufacturer or order online.
can super sealer be applied over surface previously (2yers. ago) sealed.
Depends on the type of sealer that was used prior and it has discolored or not?
Fresh stamped concrete with xypex additive, what’s best penetrating wet look sealer, looking for durability(10+ Years)
Nothing will last more than 2-3 years when it comes to wet look sealers. Try Super Seal 30.
ok, ill will get that
Seal Krete makes a non-slip grit additive for sealers. Can this be mixed into Super Seal?
Best to use the “Super Grip” as it is made by them and works correctly.
