Best Sealer for Pool Paver Patio

Best Sealer for Pool Paver Patio

What is the best sealer for pool patio concrete or paving that is not slippery?

If you are a homeowner lucky enough to have a pool, you know how enjoyable it can be. Although some maintenance is involved, pools can create a lot of fun family times. The hard surfaces around your pool can be just as essential to maintain as the pool itself.

There are a wide variety of materials used for pool patios or decks. Concrete or pavers are a common type of pool patio surface. A concrete or paver patio around the pool is expected to be cleaned and sealed on a regular basis to maintain its cleanliness. Every couple of years is typically the average for cleaning and resealing. Doing so will protect the area from harsh pool chemicals, sun fading, acid rain, erosion, and freeze/thaw damage.

My Top Sealer for Pool Brick Pavers

Finding the best sealer for pool patio concrete or pavers will ensure the area lasts long. Choose a sealer that is non-gloss to reduce the chance of creating a slippery surface. Being around a pool obviously means that wet feet will be walking and running across the surface. Making it too slippery with multiple applications of a glossy sealer is the last thing you want to do.

However, some sealers fall into that category if you want to give the pool patio a wet look without the gloss. Sealers like SuperSeal M, Supreme Shield SB-600, or Surebond SB-6000 are great choices. These sealers penetrate the surface to create a barrier of protection without the glossy finish. Some Satin and Semi-Gloss sealers will work as well as long as they do not seal the surface 100%. These would be styrene acrylic-based sealers such as SuperSeal25.

There are also pool patio sealers that will not alter the appearance of the concrete or pavers but still give the surface adequate weather protection. It really comes down to personal preference, but creating a non-slippery surface that is water-repellent is the goal. Sealing your pool patio concrete or pavers with the best sealer possible is good insurance to protect your investment. It will also ensure you maintain your outdoor living space so it is there to enjoy for many years.

We bought a house with a pool and are unsure of the material around the pool . It may be concrete but it seems to get mildew on it that is black. We were successful in cleaning the deck but found that it has gotten mildew again. What sort of sealant should we use – if any?

We are 65 years old and have our first pool in our new retirement home. I want to seal the pavers around the pool and lanai and like the wet glossy wet look but have slippery concerns as we grow older. Any issues or recommendations?
Also, I want to do the driveway and walkway from pool door to boat dock. Recommendations please?
Thanks

I have a 50 yr old pool in our community. We are considering painting the concrete deck surrounding the pool. After cleaning and etching, is paint applied (for the color) and then the sealant? Or is it best to simply apply a non-skid sealant?

So many options, I’ve recently poured colored concrete around pool and stamped and also have brush coping around the perimeter of the pool. Do not want gloss or shine need somewhat of a wet look to bring out the color. Can’t decide between SP 6000 or SP 600 or the Masonary saver decorative concrete sealer.

What’s the difference between the two is there a advantage using one over the other? Do I have to wait 28 days to apply or can you do it sooner than that?

Hi. Thanks for the info! I was looking for an alternative to H&C xylene-based concrete stain, white opaque, for our textured concrete pool deck. The H&C stain needs to be re-coated every two or three years after repeated pressure-washings. Does another manufacturer have a product which is compatible with our surface? Thx. Pete C

Thanks very much. From reading …the masonry decorative sealer will end up giving a wet look with some shine? You feel it wouldn’t be to slippery by stamped concrete pool.. once allowed to cure 2 coats? It can be rolled on?Thanks

I have brick bullnose coping around pool and on top (bench) of hot tub. Coping around pool has become dull and looking for product to get wet / new look back as well as non slick. On hot tub bench coping replaced last year and still looks new. Water seeps in tiny cracks in concrete joints and eventually leach out on tile grout lines causing build up of what looks like calcium. See picture. Would any of the sealers products help to reduce, eliminate this leaching issue?

Ure-seal was used on the pavers pictured recently. The previous sealer was removed. Is it me or do they look like they are cloudy already.

Hi, just had pavers installed around our pool. I’ve read that you should wait for a year to seal? Is it doable to do yourself? What kind of sealer should we use around our pool? It’s chlorine. Should we use a water based joint stabilizer?

I have a salt water pool patio area that's roughly 800 sqft. Large Permacon cassara pavers installed few days ago. Looking for suggestions on both gloss and matte finish sealers. Easy application preferably a pump sprayer. My main concern in the slippery surface it would create for our young children. I'd also like it to prevent stains from leafs. We have a large tree on the neighbour's property. Located in Toronto Canada. Cold winters here

I live in Arizona and have concrete colored pavers around pool and patio. Patio colors still look good, but pavers around the sunny area look faded. Is there a product that I can use to get the color back (when it is wet, all the pavers match). Thanks so much for the help. And is there someone in the Scottsdale area you would recommend to apply product? The deck less than 2 years old.

We live in WI and purchased a home with an inground that is surrounded with exposed aggregate pool deck, it doesn't look like it has ever had a new coat of sealant on it. It is very rough and not pleasant to walk on, what can we use to seal it and hopefully make walking on it a little easier? Also is there a product/sealant that could slightly tint the color, it is an ugly gray.
Thanks in advance.

Is the Masonry Saver (Delfy) Water Repellent Sealer good to use on a stamped concrete pool deck that
has a salt water pool? It looks from your reviews like its the best product you reviewed, and its non-glossy so I assume not slippery. Thanks for the advice!
