2024 for Super Diamond Clear Sealer

My Super Diamond Clear Sealer Scores (1-10)
Wet Look: 9
– We were very impressed with the Super Diamond Clear darkening/enhancing the stamped concrete patio. The overall look and colors were enhanced well.
Gloss Level: 8
– Super Diamond Clear contains 25% solids, according to the manufacturer. This sealer left a nice semi-gloss shine on the stamped concrete patio. We did notice that the Diamond Clear looked stunning when dried.
Joint Sand Hardening: n/a
– It does not apply as we used the Diamond Clear on a Stamped Concrete Patio that contained no jointing sand.
Fading/wearing After 2 Years: 7
– The Diamond Clear did pretty well with fading after two years and was on par with other solvent-based sealers containing similar amounts of acrylic. There was no visible wearing or peeling.
White Haze/Yellowing: 6
– We were not impressed with the Diamond Clear regarding the dreaded white haze. It did not turn white completely, but it left a light white look on the sealer and patio.
My Overall Score Super Diamond Clear at 2-Year Period: 7.5
The Super Diamond Clear did well, except for the white hazing. We were very impressed with the appearance after application, and it seemed to hold up reasonably well through the years.
It’s not a lousy sealer, but it’s not the best.

If it says use buy 09/17 will it affect the look on flag stone
I do not believe you can use Dimoand Clear on natural stone like flagstone. It will dry blotchy.
Do you apply it before or after you apply the filler to pavers .we were told to apply before we put the silicone filler
What do you mean by “silicon filler”?
I have the same white ghosting as others listed below. What product can I use to strip it off and then reseal with another product?
Also I have an automatic pool cover and every time I close the pool the cover sticks to the concrete. I have to physically pull it off the concrete before the motor can roll the cover up. Any suggestions on how to unstick it?
See this about removing it: https://www.concretesealerreview.com/how-to-strip-a-paver-sealer/
No idea on the cover, sorry.
I only want gallon size amount, not 5 gallons. Where can I get only a gallon?
Not sure as we do not use it anymore. Check with the manufacturer.
Is this product toxic and dangerous to human health?
No, but it is solvent so it will have a strong odor.
Can you roll the super diamond sealer, or do you have to spray it?
You can roll it.
Thanks. I was just looking over the stamped concrete and it does have some fairly deep impressions. If rolled, do I need to put extra product on to cover the crevices completely? or brush in?
No need.
The stamped concrete used to have a gray over-color in parts. That is gone. Is there something we can use to simulate that – with or before – sealing?
Sorry but no.
I apologize if this question went through already, but my concrete used to be two toned. It only has its base color now (the gray is gone). Is there something that I can apply before or during sealing that would give it that two toned dimension again?
Super Seal 30 vs Supreme Shield SB-600 for 2 year old exposed aggregate in Michigan. You seem to love the 30 but give higher praise (rating) to 600…. So, which one should we all use on this forum??
Depends on the look you want to achieve. Both give a wet look. The SS30 will give a gloss shine. The SB-600 has no gloss or shine.
With a two coat application, how long between coats?
60 minutes.
used super diamond clear in a finished stained basement floor before construction was done. Now that construction is done there are scratches and gouges. can i use a buffer and reseal?
Not sure. I would ask Euclid Chemicals directly about this.
Can i use this over a previously installed Valspar sealant or do I have to strp that first. Tx
Depends if the old sealer discolored or not.
would you use Superseal25 semigloss near a pool?
You can. If you need traction, add Super Grip or Shark Grip.
ANY CLEANING AND OR MAINTENANCE PROTOCAL?
For the Diamond Clear? Prep and reapply as needed every 2 years. If the sealer turns white as it can do, strip all off and start over.
we used super diamond clear on a stamped pad and it turned white from bubbles. tried resealing it with another cote and it came out the same . went back and put xylene on it in an attempt to reimulsify it it now has little larger bubbles all over it. wishing we had not used this product.
the non voc sealers we used before were much better products
Less than impressed with this….it does make my stamped look wet, but not that impressive shine of beautiful stamped concrete, basically it looks like it may have lightly rained on it, there's hardly any shine to it…I almost wanna say it looks worse than before sealing it. I applied the "thin" coat I was told over and over to do at the concrete supply around here. Unless I went too thin, but I won't use this again.
I love this product. We have a colored concrete driveway and a darker stamped sidewalk. We have used this product for the last 11 years. We re-do it every other summer. We have NEVER has any issues with it. If it yellowed or cracked it was probably not applied correctly. Do not apply it too thick or else it will peel or flake off. We do take the time to prepare the surface. Acid wash to get off anything so there won't be any issues. Also if you do it in hot weather it won't last. Love this product.
I must respectfully disagree with the reviewer. The contractor who poured my stamped concrete patio applied Super Diamond Clear sealer to it. It probably did help with the curing as I have no cracks, HOWEVER~ 2 years later, this product did yellow horribly and develop a nasty white haze. If I had to guess, I would say it was 50-60% transparent, but like looking through very cloudy amber. In other words, I could see about 50% of the original color through the white yellowy haze. It looked like my patio had cataracts. It is a messy nightmare to remove it… Read more »
Beware do not use this product. Gave it a second chance. What a mistake. It turned my beautiful red Arizona stamped concrete patio into a milky white mess. Followed instructions to a tee. Results both times the same. Ewwwwwwww
Can u use this in concrete driveway?
Plain poured concrete? No, it will dry blotchy and uneven.
i am sealing an area around a saltwater pool approximately 1100 sq ft. thw aeea gets sun from 7 am to 9 pm. when would be the best time to install the sealer without having any issues with blushing or bubbling. todays temperature is goinv to reach 84º by 1 pm.
Late in the day just prior to the sun going down.
I put on super diamond clear , first coat looked great put on second coat with shark grip , now you can see every roller mark , went over thin third coat still no difference in look , any way to fix this were roller lines will not show ?_
Most likely you will need to strip it all off to fix and that will not be easy.
How do I fix fish eyes on a diamond clear floor
Not sure what you mean about fish eyes?
Help!
I split some Euclid super diamond sealer in the back of my car on the carpet. Any thoughts on how to get it out? Will the smell fade?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
It will fade but will take many days. Doubt it will come out though.
Decorative stamped concrete poured and seal with euclid super diamond clear May 2014 ( green, white, black can) Then it was resealed May 2016 with euclid super diamond clear (white can). After about two month decorative stamped concrete appeared with a white haze. I called the guy who did the second coat and he stated to try a treatment of xylene. After 1st initial try with xylene it seems to work, but after a few weeks same white haze appeared. So I tried 2nd treatment of xylene with same results. Yesterday I ran into the guy who resealed it now he… Read more »
You cannot fix this by adding more sealer of any brand on top of the white haze. Need to strip it all off and start over. Diamond Clear is a solid acrylic sealer. It is not breathable and can be prone to the white haze. We suggest the Super Seal 25 or Super Seal 30. These are breathable styrene acrylics that are not prone to the white haze issues of solid acrylics. Like I mentioned previously, you cannot fix your issue though by adding a better sealer on top. You need to remove and start over.
How to exactly remove and start over? Could i try using the xylene and pressure washing after? Or do I find a sealer stripper and pressure wash the surface? I'm not sure what sealer stripper to use that does not come in a 5 gallon can! Thanks for your help. I'm guessing the concrete guy who I used doesnt know much about the sealer.
Xylene will not strip it. You will need a sealer stripper. We use the Clemons Concrete Sealer Stripper and heavy pressure washing to remove.
Where can I find this? Does it come in a container less that an 5 gallons? I only have 200 sq ft to strip
Contact the manufacturer for locating or do a search online.
Can any floor stripper be used to strip the sealant? I've seen some at Lowes that said can be used on concrete for acrylic , but was not sure about it? I'm waiting to hear back from Clemsons to tell me where can I find there product for sale. Seems like everything I see is a 5 gallon bucket.
No, not any floor sealer stripper will work.
Ok I'm waiting to hear back from Clemson about where to find there product for sale.
Is Clemson the only one you recommend? Or can you tell me another one similar to use? I found one with the name of Glaze n Seal paint, seal & coating stripper.
We have tried others but the Clemons seem to always work. Make sure you have a good pressure washer to remove after applying. Never tried the Glaze n Seal stripper so unsure about how effective it is.
Order the Clemons stripper and decided to go with the Clemons Supreme Shield SB 600. I decided to go with the wet look. I'm looking forward to seeing no white haze!
Did I make a mistake in going with the Clemons Supreme Shield SB-600 over the Super Seal 25 or 30? I decided I wanted a wet look instead of a gloss. I just received my order today. My plan is to strip the sealer 1st with the clemons then apply sealer a few days later.
You ordered the right product. The SB-600 will give a wet look with no gloss.
Great just hoping for no white haze after a few days or weeks. Thanks for the help.
We use a general concrete cleaner and degreaser after using the stripper if there is any \”residue\” from the stripper that needs to be washed off.
What would be the name of the degreaser? I've done some stripping and still some white afternit has dried. I'm not sure if I need to strip it again.
We use Clemons Cleaner Degreaser but any brand should work. It does not remove old sealer if that is still there. It removes \”soap\” residue that can be left behind when stripping.
Is there anyway I can upload a picture on here to show my results? I'm not sure if I need to strip the section again or use a degreaser?
Sorry but the system does not allow uploads.
Hi, I just applied an acid stain to my concrete basement floor and looking to finish it off with a sealer. After investing so much time on the stain I really want to find a sealer that makes the color pop and give me a nice wet look. Since it's indoors I have to use a water base product. Will Super Diamond Clear whiten/cloud if it's indoors or is this because of the sun? In the review above you say that Super Diamond clear is not the best sealer. Can you recommend a better sealer for my use case? Thanks!
Diamond Clear is solvent based, not water based. Look at Masonry Saver Decorative Concrete Sealer.
What about Super Diamond Clear VOX. Have you used this product? The product brochure says it's non-yellowing and 25% solids. Would you choose the Masonry Saver over the Super Diamond VOX in terms of wet look? Thanks
We have not used it. The specs for it do not say a wet look, but gloss only. There is a difference.
thanks!
I have been sealing my patio with Super Diamond Clear. This past April it didn't take so well. I think i might have applied it too thick. How much time needs to pass before applying another coat?
Most likely you need to strip and start over. It does not just go away and adding more later one will compound the issue of build up and too many coats.
I have used this product for many years. Every year requires another application because the exposed aggregate surface becomes discolored as though a light coating of light brownish mud covers the entire surface that was coated with Super Diamond Clear. "If" a portion of the coated surface is continuously cover with something such as a rug, the Diamond Coat remains clear and continues to enhance the natural appearance of the exposed aggregate. From my experience using Diamond Coat at my home, many years ago, I can attest to the fact that the Diamond Coat back then did not turn to… Read more »
Can this product be used on a wood table.
No
Okay so I'm in a terrible situation with this product. I took a job to reseal a pool deck. I cleaned it. Sprayed the surface with xzylene and rolled the sealer on. I did wait until the slab was completely dry before I applied. While the sealer was still wet the homeowners lawn maintenance guys mowed the yard and got grass all over the fresh seal. The homeowner used a blower on it to try and get all of the grass out and after hours of that and also picking it out the seal turned white in a few spots… Read more »

If that does not work, you nay need to strip it all off and start over.
Chemical reaction with the pool chemicals
Can you put an epoxy concrete paint on it?
I do not think it will adhere.
Will rain impact sealant drying if applied to pavers for just over an hour? Was told it took several hours for second coat to dry.
If the sealer is still wet then yes it will have issues if it rains on it.
I would like to seal my pavers with a matte finish. What is the best product to use. Can I roller it on? Thanks for your help.
Carol, try the Super Seal Matte Paver Sealer or Surebond SB-6000.
We were sold Euclid diamond clear 350 which turned dark we were supposed to have clear. How can we either remove or at least lighten our concret driveway?
It is normal to darken the color with these products. To remove you will need a concrete sealer stripper and a pressure washer. We use the Clemons Concrete Sealer Stripper.
i sealed my stamped concrete patio and there are areas where the sealer took well and areas that it did not. It almost looks as if the areas of high foot traffic did not take the sealer or it did not make the colors pop. I have only put one coat on the patio. I would love to get some advice on how to get the color back jn those areas?
Most likely it is the stamped concrete itself that is causing this, not the sealer. Not sure if it can be fixed. Might want to contact a local pro who can look at the project for some advice.
Have used it with a brush every year since 2007 on my stamped patio. Great wet look. Easy to use. No fading on discoloration. But it does NOT last more than a year. I would give it an 8. Would consider a rival product if it would last longer.
i sealed my aggregate patio two years ago , shine only held up one year ..was told by several people diamond was the best , i do no believe this ..i am now searching for another brand dealer ..i would think any of them would last a year and less expensive.
so if i do not submit a favorable review ..you wont post it ..now more than ever i will definatly stear clear of DIAMOND…
Not sure what you mean.
I had a stamped concrete patio poured last year and it turned out beautiful. It was sealed with Super Diamond Clear and seems to have held up pretty well. However, it is on the south side of the house and gets full sun all day long. I was going to reseal it again this fall just to keep it looking its best. If I want to switch from Super Diamond Clear to SuperSeal 25 or SuperSeal 30 this time around, do I need to do anything special to prep the patio, or is a good pressure washing sufficient? Also, is… Read more »
The 30 is a little shinier then the 25. Just make sure the surface is clean and that the Diamond clear has not discolored.
I have 1500 sq ft of stamped concrete. I have been coating yearly with super diamond clear for 7 yrs. Good results but have to do it every year. A concrete guy said I could cut / thin the diamond clear with zylene and it might make it more durable, last longer. Sound true?
No that does not make it last longer. Opposite really.
Can you burnish Super Diamond Clear Sealer?
I highly doubt you can.
It has been over a week and still has a "horrible, strong, nasty " oder. If a pillow or towel is on the floor, it picks up the floor smell.
It's been a major disappointment with this product. The finish scuffs and marks easily. Any suggestions on how to elimante the smell and how to deal with the scuffs and scratches?
Ddi you use this inside? You should not have due to the odor. It will have to go away naturally. Not sure on the scratches.
Is this product safe to use in house?
It will smell really bad for a few days otherwise it will be fine.
how can I remove the sealer
the person who did my concrete mixed colour with the sealer and know it's peeling and looks terrible how can I remove it
Use the Concrete Sealer Stripper made by Clemons Concrete and pressure washing.
What is the best time of day and temperature to apply the super Diamond Clear 350 concrete sealer.
I applied it on a hot day around 11:00 am in brite sunshine. The patio was very hot. The sealer didn't bubble right away but the next morning almost the entire 950 sq ft patio was full of small blister bubbles. What can I do to fix the patio now?
Apply on a cloudy day late in the evening. Spray down the patio with xylene to melt the bubbles. Do not apply this in direct sunlight to avoid it repeating again.
I also experienced bubbling. Can I simply mist with xylene without having to reseal?
You can try the xylene. Make sure to not apply in direct sunlight. Later in the day before sun goes down.
What type of anti slip product would you use?
Shark Grip or Super Grip are two we use.
Guys staining deck above exposed aggregate concrete dripped stain on the patio. The patio is sealed with super diamond clear and they tried to clean it up by using paint thinner and a wire brush…now I have patches that are a dull white color in several places on my patio. The deck guys said they contacted the super clear folks and they said just to clean and re-seal those areas… should I trust this or does anyone think this doesn't sound right? Thanks for any advice here…
Most likely that will fix the patio below.
Can I apply VCR tile on top of super diamond clear sealed?
Probably not.
I had my stampcrete porch sealed and there are white areas that came up right after it was dried. Also a concrete repair was done the day before on the concrete porch and it was also sealed the day after the work was completed. It was power washed and sealed the same day. Was it done properly? I have pictures also.
Not sure. It could be trapped moisture under the sealer. Try applying xylene solvent to those areas to restore the look.
I get bubbles up from the concrete every year so I have to put on a new coat every spring. Looks beautiful though.
I just receintly poored a new floor in my garage and sealed it with two coats of Super Diamond Clear and was wondering about using an anti-slip agent. It seems like this shouldn't be an issue I was just wondering what would be the best way to go about applying this? I've heard I will have to loosen it up a little with xylene.
CWD, you apply the anti-slip in with the sealer. You cannot apply it with xylene.

Contractor sealed with Diamond Clear upon curing and again at 3 yrs. Now 3 yrs later (6 yrs ttl) need to seal again. Diamond Clear looks/performs great for 2 yrs only. At 3 it is basically gone. What will last/perform longer in Minnesota?
Dan H, nothing will last longer. I would stay with it or switch to SuperSeal25.
Live in Dallas Texas and had an aggregate pool deck poured, what is the best sealer to use giving a wet look? Will i need to add an anti slip agent being that it is aggregate? Is it easy enough for me to do myself.
Michael, I would look at the SuperSeal 30 and adding a ant slip will help with the pool area. Yes you can easily do it yourself.
Supper diamond clear is the best for wet look
